INSPIRATION: VINTAGE TRAVEL POSTERS

Last week we toured the world a little bit with some fun illustrated maps and today I’m continuing the voyage with some beautiful vintage travel posters. Back when TWA was the glamorous airline of choice, it did a wonderful job of selling it’s destinations through these highly collectible maps.

British graphic designer Abram Games is one of the most well known 20th century designers. In 1935 he won a poster designing competition for the London City Council and his decades long career began. Below are just a few of his many amazing pieces.

And further on the globe trotting theme is the work of M.Sasek who was born in Prague in 1916 and worked as an illustrator most of his life. His work continues to look so fresh and contemporary and has been a favorite at bedtime in my house for many years.

The bottom line is, I’d love to be hired to create some travel posters or airline advertising campaign so if there are any art directors out there, I’m your gal.
